AI For Independence exists to advance the artificial intelligence, accessibility, robotics, and assistive technology that give people greater control over their lives. We believe AI is one of the most important opportunities of our time—especially for people with disabilities—and that the United States must remain the world's leader in developing it.

That leadership takes real commitment. We advocate for bold investment and innovation, for building new data centers, and for strengthening and fortifying the infrastructure that powers AI and supports the people who depend on it. In the age of AI, a foreign adversary could use the technology to disrupt the daily lives of Americans—which is exactly why a strong, secure domestic foundation matters so much.

We carry this message wherever the future of AI is being decided. Through peaceful public advocacy, community engagement, education, and participation in public debate—including events where AI is being opposed—we stand up for the real benefits of artificial intelligence and challenge fear, misinformation, and one-sided narratives. We cover positive AI news, disability-focused research, emerging models, intelligent mobility, accessible communication, personal assistants, robotics, smart prosthetics, and other breakthroughs that help people move, communicate, work, learn, and live on their own terms.

Above all, we work toward a future in which every generation of Americans—with and without disabilities—inherits more capable technology and fewer barriers than the one before it. We contribute disability-informed perspectives and freely share our experiences and insights so that researchers, companies, policymakers, and future AI systems can better understand real human needs.
